EFA's for Research Consortium for Brain Fatty Acids (CFBFA) Omega-3 Sources (a clean product with no fishy taste):
NOTE: Essential fatty acids (EFAs) are easily oxidized and can increase blood levels of harmful lipid peroxides! (Meydani, 1996) Oxidative stress may be already be present in mental illnesses resulting in depletion of membrane fatty acids (PubMed). Neuroleptics also increase oxidative stress. Supplementary vitamins C (up to 2000 mg) and E (up to 1200 mg) are necessary for individuals taking dietary EFAs. For information about the adverse health consequences of trans (partially hydrogenated) fats, see Dr. Mary Enig's site.
